Premium lenses have higher-grade optics, with more glass elements, so they stay sharp across the whole image. On the other lenses, sharpness drops towards the edges.
If you use the Crop feature (2K cameras), prefer a premium lens: when you pan/tilt within the sensor, the edges of the image end up in the frame, and cropping magnifies any loss of sharpness.
