Firmware update
This page will describe how to upgrade your Proton camera. This procedure applies to the whole lineup:
- CAM
- FLEX
- RAIN
- 4K
Wiring

Ensure to plug:
- The power supply in the PIO dedicated 2.1mm jack
- The camera to the 6P female port of the PIO
- The USB of the PIO to your computer

Upgrade
Ensure your wiring is correct (camera plugged on PIO and PIO on computer and PSU on PIO)
- Unzip the downloaded package
- Go into the
03 Update
directory - If you're on Windows, double click on
PROTON Updater.exe
- If you're on Mac OS X:
- double click on
PROTON Updater.zip
- then on the extracted app:
PROTON Updater.app
- double click on
From there:
- The app will scan to find your camera (connected on USB)
- You can see the current version of your camera
- Then click on
Open Folder
to browse and find the03 Update
directory from the latest downloaded package - You can now see the newest version that the software found and will install
- Click on
Start Update
and wait 5 minutes
Your camera is now updated.
Troubleshooting
Not seeing your camera?
- Check your wiring:
- is power supply plugged in PIO?
- is USB properly inserted in PIO?
- is USB properly inserted in your computer?
- is the camera properly plugged to PIO?
- In doubt, unplug/replug, sometime it could be "half plugged"
- If you still not see your camera listed, maybe you're missing the serial driver
- Reboot, then retry
